The Hagstrom Select Series, Vintage Series, and UltraLux Series guitars recapture the original glorious Hagstrom style. They are built to the same stringent quality standards and feature Hastrom’s exclusive technologies including the legendary H-Expander Truss Rod while introducing a number of new technological advances such as the Resinator Fretboard in order to guarantee that these are the finest guitars on the market. The UltraLux Series XL-5 is a soloist’s dream, featuring a new state-of-the-art neck design that is so thin it has to be played to be believed. Measuring a mere 18-19mm thick, the UltraLux’s neck still benefits from Hagstrom’s H-Expander truss rod and Resinator fretboard for stability and reliability. The XL-5 is effortless and accurate, and the super thin neck and ergonomic solid body provide the ultimate playability. The XL-5 features a Basswood body with Flame Maple Veneer, a super fast UltraLux Maple set neck, as well as the distinctive Resinator wood fingerboard with Hagstrom Abalone position marks. The XL-5 features Hagstrom 15:1 die cast tuners, 25.5 inch scale length, 1 Custom 52N, 1 HS-2, 1 Custom 52B(H/S/H) pickups, a 3-way pickup switch, and an FCS-2 bridge. The H-Expander Truss Rod provides tension at either end and running the entire length of the neck. The rigid yet lightweight alloy truss rod allows for a very low action and thin neck, two factors that were instrumental in earning Hagstrom its reputation as the world’s fastest playing guitar. The Ultralux Series XL-5 also features 1x Volume / 2x Tone/2-way mini toggle controls.

I have a 1960’s or 1970’s Apollo guitar, made by Kawai in Japan. I need to know anything and everything about these guitars.

I was recently given a Gibson ES-125 and would love to keep it around for a while. Should I keep the strings on? Keep it dry or humid? What else needs to be done to maintain it?
